Checking Different Displays
5 mins
Easy
If you're experiencing display issues, and you've already tried other troubleshooting steps, testing with a different display can help determine whether the problem lies with your monitor or your PC
Steps to Test with a Different Display
Disconnect Your Current Display
● Turn off your PC.
● Disconnect the display cable (HDMI or DisplayPort) from your current monitor.
Prepare a Second Display
● If you have a second monitor or a TV, prepare it for use.
● Ensure the second display is powered off before connecting it.
Use the Same Cable
● For consistency, use the same cable (HDMI or DisplayPort) that you were using with your original display.
● Connect the cable to the second display.
● Power on the second display.
Test Under the Same Conditions.
● Turn on your PC.
● Use your PC as you normally would and check if the display issues persist.
● If the second display works without issues, the problem likely lies with your original monitor.
